The kickoff event will feature Dr. Grace Kong\, Associate Professor of Psychiatry at Yale School of Medicine\, presenting “Social Media for Public Health: Evidence from Tobacco Control.” Dr. Kong’s research examines how social media can serve as a powerful data source to identify tobacco use and promotion among youth and young adults. She will highlight innovative approaches—including machine learning and generative AI—to detect emerging trends and explore how these methods can be applied to broader public health challenges\, including substance use and mental health.
