SUMMARY:Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementia Translational Work-in-Progress (ADRD-TWIP): Auriel A. Willette\, PhD\, MS
DESCRIPTION:“NPTX2 as a novel predictor of AD-like brain pathology using longitudinal MRI?”\nSpeaker: Auriel A. Willette\, PhD\, MS\nAssociate Professor\, Department of Neurology\, Rutgers Institute for Health\, Herbert and Jacqueline Krieger Klein Alzheimer’s Research Center in the Rutgers Brain Health Institute \nDr. Willette will: 1) go over NPTX2’s basic functions; 2) discuss NPTX2’s role as a biological underpinning of learning and memory; and 3) relate opportunities to leverage NPTX2 as a biomarker for longitudinal brain changes in a midlife cohort (WRAP) and late-life cohort (ADNI). He will then discuss his specific aims and methodology for an R01 grant application. He is interested in getting feedback and suggestions\, in particular the number and suitability of the aims. Dr. Willette’s research focuses on pairing novel biomarkers with pre-clinical Alzheimer’s disease related changes in cognition and neuroimaging. \nThis is not a formal talk and discussion and critique are very much welcome. \nDate and Time: Wednesday\, March 4\, 12-1 PM \nZoom: https://rutgers.zoom.us/j/94769804345?pwd=IMqJIIvuDmRl997R6O4U4NKbt6UWfs.1\nMeeting ID: 947 6980 4345; Password: 454288
