SUMMARY:Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementia Translational Work-in-Progress (ADRD-TWIP): Zheng Shi\, PhD
DESCRIPTION:“Deciphering Determinants of Condensate Liquid-to-Solid Transitions in Neurodegeneration”\nSpeaker: Zheng Shi\, PhD\nAssociate Professor\, Department of Chemistry and Chemical\, Biology\, Rutgers-New Brunswick \nDate and Time: Wednesday\, November 4\, 2026\, 12-1 PM \nZoom: https://rutgers.zoom.us/j/94769804345?pwd=IMqJIIvuDmRl997R6O4U4NKbt6UWfs.1\nMeeting code: 947 6980 4345\nPasscode: 454288 \nDr. Shi’s lab pursues two primary directions: 1) Quantitative understanding of the material properties of biomolecular condensates in cells that are relevant to neurodegeneration and cell signaling. 2) Investigating the subcellular behavior of mechanosensitive proteins. Dr. Shi is hoping to discuss specific aims and get feedback for a potential NINDS R01 application. Particularly\, he is trying to develop his research aims\, which currently focus on the material states of biomolecular condensates\, towards understanding the mechanisms of neurodegeneration.
