Dr. Morgan Firestein studies how the perinatal environment shapes brain development and behavior. Her research program integrates translational and clinical research approaches to understanding how the placenta regulates fetal exposure to endogenous and exogenous factors, and how aberrant intrauterine exposures contribute to the etiology of autism and other neurodevelopmental disorders.
