Open Position: Postdoctoral Associate in the Addiction Neuroimaging, Motivation, and Interventions (ANMI) Lab

Dr. Suchismita Ray, an Associate Professor in the Department of Health Informatics at Rutgers School of Health Professions and a Core member of the Rutgers Brain Health Institute is looking for a Postdoctoral Associate for her Addiction Neuroimaging, Motivation, and Interventions (ANMI) Lab, who will be deeply involved in NIH-funded projects related to drug addiction, biobehavioral mechanisms, and pharmaco- and behavioral-interventions. This position will provide valuable opportunities for professional development, including mentored training in experimental study design and data analysis, manuscript preparation, and grant writing. The Postdoctoral Associate will also assist in preparing, cleaning, and analyzing biobehavioral data, as well as preparing manuscripts, reports, and presentations based on the research findings.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Assist the principal investigator and study staff on ongoing NIH-funded research projects.
  • Assist with data collection, data cleaning, data analysis, and data interpretation.
  • Assist with presentation and manuscripts preparation.
  • Supervise the graduate and undergraduate students in the lab.
  • Prepare federal grant proposals based on conducted research and findings.
  • Understand and adhere to Rutgers’ compliance standards as they appear in RBHS’s Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Doctoral degree in Cognitive Science/Psychology, public health, computer science/artificial intelligence (AI), informatics, or a related field required.
  • The candidate should possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Qualified candidates must be in the process of completing or have completed the training and requirements for a Ph.D.
  • Candidates must provide proof that all Ph.D. degree requirements have been fulfilled before their employment start date.
  • Research experience and/or strong publication record in behavioral, epidemiological, health services, and/or health-related AI research is required.

Dr. Ray’s research activities are geared toward improving the precision of interventions for individuals with opioid and other drug use disorders.

Mission: To examine the cognitive, behavioral, and brain mechanisms underlying drug addiction using experimental tasks and functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), and to develop effective behavioral and pharmacological interventions.

Vision: Disseminate research findings from my laboratory to the clinicians in order to decrease drug use, relapse, and overdose deaths.
