Rutgers Brain Health Institute is hiring a Director of Development.

Here is the institute behind the role.

The Rutgers Brain Health Institute (BHI) is one of the world’s largest and most comprehensive brain research organizations, bringing together an exceptional concentration of neuroscience laboratories, clinical expertise, and research infrastructure across major areas of brain health.

Since its inception more than 10 years ago, BHI has experienced tremendous growth. It has recruited over 45 tenure-track faculty members, with more on the way, and established five Centers of Research Excellence.

Two new centers in development:  Pain research and Auditory Neuroscience.

BHI leads cutting-edge research to uncover the mysteries of the brain and improve lives. Its scientists collaborate across disciplines to find solutions for complex neurological and mental health challenges, and its clinical partnerships ensure discoveries make a real-world impact on patient care.

BHI has launched two initiatives to extend that impact beyond the clinic.

BHI for You

Transforms research into clear, accessible resources for the public, empowering individuals to understand their experiences and support loved ones.

The Rutgers Women’s Brain Health Initiative

Supports and showcases research focused on women’s brain health, while translating findings into practical resources for the public. RWBHI raises awareness of how biological transitions — puberty, pregnancy, motherhood, menopause, and aging — shape brain health across a lifetime. For decades, women were excluded from medical research and clinical trials, leaving gaps that this initiative helps address by amplifying evidence‑based knowledge and empowering women to make informed decisions.

BHI’s mission is to advance brain health through pioneering research, training, and innovation at Rutgers

The Director of Development will play a central role in this mission.

This is a partnership from the start.

  • Work alongside BHI’s director and its scientists to connect groundbreaking research with donor support
  • Collaborate with the Rutgers University Foundation team, leveraging alumni networks and established development operations
  • Work alongside BHI’s communications team to engage supporters through events and programs
